I know there is frustratingly little information about Tarre Vizsla, or any real canon images of what he looked like. We've got the statue shot and the silhouette from Star Wars: Rebels and that's about it. Still, I really want to make this my next cosplay attempt. The helmet should be relatively simple, will probably see if I can get someone to custom model and 3d print it, it's only slightly different than the typical mando helmet style.
However, Other than some vague lines with the silhouette images, it's completely up in the air as to what his armor would look like. The silhouette shows more accented/curved chest plates reaching further down on the torso, and there may or may not be an ab plate below/between them, it isnt shown but probably is included in the design. I'm curious though; tarre vizsla would probably qualify as a crusader era mando, but the silhouette shows what looks more like modern era chest plates (with the 'fanged' lower points on each side of the ab plate rather than a more solid/squared off chestplate design). If anyone has some examples of crusader era chest armor that might look like this, I'd love to see them.
Because he was both a mandalorian and a jedi, I figure that there's enough artistic license available to merge the two factions' armor styles and try to create something that looks like it belongs to both. A combination of jedi-style cloak and lower robes (going from the sash/girth belt to the knees, meaning likely no thigh plates), with mandalorian style chest plates, gauntlets, and helm seem like they could work out pretty well.
For gauntlets, I was looking into the legacy style gauntlets April Storm makes, as I really like her products and have used them in my latest kit, but Legacy is the wrong time frame for Tarre Vizsla. Obviously as a Jedi, I figure Tarre would not have a lot of weaponry on his gauntlets, but the usual buttons/lights/etc. should be fine. If anyone has good examples of crusader era gauntlets, I could use the references for this.
I'm aware that there are no real CRLs for tarre vizsla, and crossovers typically arent approved for OM status, but I think this would still be a fun side project of a character that very few people ever Cosplay as.
