You've got a good start there. The braids and the wrap are nice touches. A couple things to point out with it, though.

You're going to want to put a muzzle device of some sort on there. I would suggest using the top nub as a mounting point and getting rid of the lower nub.

The cutout in the magazine needs to be filled in or covered over. It's a dead giveaway that it's an airsoft replica.

I would also suggest moving the magazine to a different location and covering over the existing magwell. It'll help to further divorce the prop from its roots as an airsoft replica. Side-mounting is a classic option in Star Wars.

Again, it's a good start, and a decent base to work from. Just needs a little more to bring it into the Star Wars universe.

What do you mean muzzle device? Like the flared cone look? The current nub is not too different from say a DC-17 pistol. I can remove second nub and fill in mag holes no problem. However the side mount look makes it impossible to have a holster then if glued on. The side mount works on rifles more. In its current form it would be holstered magless and the mag would be inserted once it’s removed.

I don't think you have to do away with the magazine placement. A few low-profile greebles will make it a little more sci-f. Some ideas might be a small dial or buttons or tiny leds. Right now it would look as suitable for a post-apocalypse costume as it does for Star Wars.

It does look really good though.

Gah, I'm so sorry, I swear I thought I hit submit on my answers for you. My fault, ner vod.

Muzzle device: it doesn't need to be flared like the DL-44, but there should be something there to help break up the sawed-off shotgun look. It doesn't have to be super long either; a couple inches should be fine.

Greeblie-ing it up would also definitely help remove it from the post-apocalyptic category and firmly entrench it in the Star Wars category. Ideally, you don't want a passing fan to look at it and go "ah, Mossberg 500. Nice." Admittedly, there are some canon examples that are extremely thinly disguised, such as Cassian's "totally-not-an-AR-pistol" sidearm.

Speaking of 'thinly disguised', wasn't one of the rebel commandos on Endor in RotJ using a gun that was just a bolt-action Gewehr rifle with a muzzle device and some wiring added?

It's definitely very shotgun/mare's leg-esque, vod. I agree about modding the barrel a bit. Or it might look awesome as-is, sans scope and mag. It's good work so far though.
