I recycled what had been a failed model as my son liked it and wanted one for his kit, but wondered if / where it would classify as modern, legacy etc and what changes may be needed to make it a 'clearable' design?

I would add a second earcap since it appears to be for modern/legacy.  You should be good after that. Nice design!

So lack of indented cheeks isn’t a major problem?

I would say it needs either indented cheeks or a brow ridge at a minimum to fit modern.

Currently it reads more crusader.

Thanks Sep - so just a brow ridge (and ear cap) to bring up to modern would work? Still trying to get my head around modelling the indents

Have to see it with those pieces and re-evaluate from there.
There's a setting in fusion you can change "allow sketches in 3d" or something like that that makes the cheeks way easier to do.

It works in the model environment.   It's how I did the cheeks on the bucket in my signature.
