Yeah, the picture with the plates was taken before I hemmed it to the correct length. This was when we marked it. I can assist, it does end right below the ab plate.

Got everything painted. Jetpack, backplate, Westars and ammo belt pieces (no picture of those though).

Backplate doesn't have as clean a separation line between the gray and red as I'd like but it will be covered by the jetpack and weathered so it'll do.



Jetpack still needs all the small details and some cleanup but the big colors are done. Now to weather and attach the hooks.



And SUPER HUGE THANK YOU SO MUCH shout out to my wife Mirdala and fellow Mando Kryamla for helping me get my Westars painted. I laid down the base coat and they did all the taping and paint for the rest.

Weathering was done last night (Thank You! Mirdala and Kryamla!!!) and I just need to apply a black wash and then clear coat everything and the armor will be finished. Still need to strap the jetpack and attach velcro for the leg armor but that shouldn't take too long. Hoping to have it all done and ready for app pictures this weekend.

How did the helmet turn out?  What you had looked super solid, and I was wondering if you got around to adding the blue chipping on the mandibles?

It came out okay. I need to add some more blue to the mandibles and do some more sanding on the dome.

Took it out for a spin at Celebration and have a nice little fix list. Its down to the fine tuning details now.

I got seriously burnt out on this build before and at Celebration. So much so that as soon as I got home this kit went into a storage bin and hasn't been touched since. But... that's about to change. I'm ready to pick it back up and get it finished. To start I'm going to take an inventory of what I have done, what needs to be finished/fixed/changed and get it approved by the end of the year. I could probably get it done sooner but I'm not pushing myself like I did at the start. So watch this space for updates coming soon.

I love this kit so far! Awesome chronicling your steps. I've got my Droid Hunter brigade upgrades to finalize but I'll be making this Obi Wan Death Watch kit myself. Keep going, I'd live to see more

I’m finally looking to pick this back up. I have a lot of work to do but no better time than the present.

I’m replacing the Eternal Armory collar, belt and boot covers with parts from Imperial Surplus. The EA parts are too flat where the IS have the right contours.

I’m also swapping the resin Westars for 3D prints purely for weight considerations. The resin blasters are great but heavy and weigh down the thigh armor.

The softs need tailoring and the jetpack harness needs to be fitted properly.

Its a bit of work but I can do it.

Yes. That’s the version I’m building. Its the Supercommando Grunt for the 501st.

I pulled everything out of the bin and laid it all out so I can see what I have and what needs done.



The flightsuit for sure needs to be tailored. I need to get a pair of gloves just for this kit so I don't forget to swap them out from my clone. The jetpack harness needs a lot of work. I plan to replace the collar, belt and boot tops with better shaped pieces from Imperial Surplus. And I'd like to get 3-D printed Westars since the resin ones I have are HEA-VY and pull down the thigh plates. I have straps rigged to the jetpack harness to help hold up the thigh plates but I'd just rather not have to worry about them.



Not sure how quickly I'll get this work done but I wanted to at least inventory what I have and what I need to do.
