I have been planning an Ursa Wren build for a while now. I figure that if I want to get it done for celebration, I should actually start.

I have a pattern for the flight suit - mock turtle neck top and leggings:

Since the armor has to be mounted right to the flight suit, I am hoping to make at least the top out of fashion neoprene. It is stretchy, but still substantial enough to hold armor. The trick is to find the right color or be able to dye it successfully. And then find fabric for the leggings that matches or see if neoprene leggings can be a thing. Yay for dark gray and a darker grey color palette.

I started the templates for the armor. I already see some adjusting that needs to be done. I’ve marked approximate lines where the changes need to happen - a more definite point on the side of the chest and a smaller trapezoid beneath the collar. And obviously they weren’t taped on exactly straight.



Her are some other misc templates - hand, shoulder, knee and the hair bit.



I am currently looking at 2 boots. A square toe is hard to find, as is a bootie with an inside zipper. Would either of these work?

The plan for the gauntlets is to purchase the files from April Storm and have them printed.

The helmet will be from NME - a modified Sabine (swap out ear caps for Night Owl Style and add bat ears) - or maybe a miracle will happen and they will have one available already modified in time.

I think those look like they have a good base to them, definitely would need to be a bit darker but easy enough to do with leather dye

I might suggest adjusting the shape of your ab plate a little more as the top edges from your references appear to be a little bit softer in shape than the hard edges that you have now. 

I really like those boots you are looking at think they would be a great base.  It looks like there is a gray trapezoid on the heel and toe of the boot as well as a line on the top of the boot just above the toes.

For shoes, maybe look into Chelsea boots as well. I've noticed Rebels characters have a predisposition towards this style. The shin armor would cover the elastic on the sides but I think this is another option you can look at if you don't find something else that suits you.

Yeah, even if I cut out the pieces with sharpish corners, I will definitely sand them round. I do like that her armor has those rounded edges.

I bought the Aerosoles boots. They should be arriving in the mail soon. I figure I can deglaze them and then dye then with the same dye as my belt and holster. I’ll just glue the tiny toe and heel plates on.

With the hair accessory template, I only had poster board scraps left, but still wanted to work. I plan on going without a bucket on occasion, so I’ll need it

Finally another update. I got my shoes. This is the only picture I have of them at the moment



I got most of my pieces rough cut out of sintra. I just have the small bits (toe and heel plates and chest trapezoid) and the shin armor left.



And I cut and styled the bangs on my wig. I still need to figure out the back - the bun bit is too bulky at the moment, but I have a direction.



My helmet, gauntlets, and blasters are on order as well as my belt and holsters. I should hopefully have these by the end of the month.

Things are coming along, but I don’t currently have many pictures - I hope to fix this soon. I have all but my shin armor shaped and sanded - a few tweaks needed and the chest piece needs a bit more clean up.  I also started plotting the color blocking on my flight suit. Here are the 2 color greys I am working with. I might end up hand stitching the light grey on.



I also bought some brown gloves (I’ll be making the grey inner gloves from an extra shirt I have). They should be here tomorrow.



We also listed out all that I have left to do and plotted out how I am going to paint everything.

My gauntlets are printed and so are my westars. I am just waiting on the helmet, then those will be in my possession. And the belts, pouches and holsters are on order. I just need to get some yellow fabric for the loin cloth and Kama and I think I will have everything that I need.
