Hi Everyone! Here is my concept for my first Mando build (I'm planning for Modern Era, with light armor).
The design on the chest armor and shoulder bell were inspired by the Loth Wolf from Rebels--I'm a dog trainer and behaviorist and thought it would be a nice subtle nod to that. I wanted to keep the color palette muted but with an feminine element, and ended up with a pastel version of the Boba Fett ROTJ color scheme. The overall effect I'll be going for is light, simple, and functional--think Clint Eastwood's "Man With No Name".
Soft Goods
- Flight suit will be constructed from stretch twill with a 2-piece design
- The flak vest will be microsuede (padded and stiffened)--I'm still debating if I want to go with a side-lacing style or not
- Cape will also be microsuede
- For the belts have a leather Mauser Ammo Belt and a mohair girth belt that will both be dyed gray
- I'll have leather holsters for a pair of Westar-34s--still deciding on the design, but likely based loosely on a Jango style
- Boots are undecided--thinking canvas chelsea boots from Blundstone, painted and weathered appropriately
- Gloves will be gray leather, fingerless
Armor & Helmet
- I'm leaning towards the 2-piece Jango Fett helmet, but I also have a resin Boba Fett helmet (no work has been done on it) as well. I think the size of the Rubies is more proportional for me, but I'll wait until I have the soft goods and body armor done before I make a final decision
- Armor will be sintra, except for knees which will be cut from PVC pipe
- Gauntlets will be a set of resin Boba Fett ROTJ style from MOW Studios (like the helmet, I picked them up years ago and never got around to working on them)
- Painting will be done with airbrush and enamel paints
- Blasters will be a pair of Rubies Westar-34s, with custom painting and all appropriate modifications
Sorry for the wall of text--I figured better to go into more detail now while I'm still planning. Thanks in advance for any tips, advice, and critiques!
