That VEST, I'm in love.  :<3: What pattern did you use for it?

Also, those plates...gorgeous. Seriously. What thickness is your material?

I have such a bad habit of tossing out my patterns, but It could be easily replicated! I actually just took a tee shirt that fit me nicely and based it off that. I kinda taught myself pattern drafting (over the course of about 3 years of sewing). I fit it as best I could for the mock-up and gave generous seam allowances for the final. Its lined with a smooth material so it moves around the body rather than catching on my flight suit and distorting the plates.

I'm using 6mm Sintra. I put a lot of time into the bevel. Haha

BOY HOWDY  :<3:

It's been some time! I'm about half way through school and its going very well, so is the progress on my Kit! Here are my updates since october!

Check it out! I can wear my kit!
Mostly.

I wore my kit to my schools halloween event and it performed very nicely, The only thing that really bothered me was my foot and hand plates, I'm not into the shape of them anymore and they not not sit right at all. So those are being scrapped, next were my shoulder bells. which I had actually already 3D modeled them to be printed. I also gifted my classic shoulders to a friend in Hettciri, (Alberta.)

Here are my models! Theyre just stormtrooper shoulders, one with the stripe removed so i could add a house/clan crest.

Now for the test of cold! I got to shoot with friends from Hettciri, (Alberta.) The mountains are as cold and unforgiving as ever. However my new shoulders were done and we rigged up my scabbards for my Dagger and Sword.

Right after our shoot, I designed myself a new kit. Inspired by deathtroopers.

But I am NOT rebuilding my whole kit. So I'm going to focus on the upgrades I need for app and then come back to this design in like...10 years.

And here are the Kit updates I personally believe I need before app, any other crit is well appreciated!

Bucket

-  My visor is not dark enough so I will need to tint it.
- Possibly some antennae. Not necessary but...y'know.

Belt

- My Belt is very flexible and sits really weird if its tight, So I think im going to make a jedi layered belt so things sit a bit better.

Legs

- Oh my word my shins and knees are very, very tight ahah. Above, I've designed some sectioned shins to mimic my back plates and cod plates. And to accompany, some flexible shnees designed by a friend from Hetciri clan, (Alberta.)

- Thigh plates! To help with composition consistency.

Other

- I may sew myself an actual flight suit, the clothes I wear with my kit are fine but are a tad tight and I believe could look more swarsy!

So thats that! Thanks to everyone still following along with my build, I know I'm not very present but, as I said. School is half way and I'm very excited!

Oya, Vode! <3

Oh my! That's a bit of a jump in progress!  couple of things I want to check:
What is the height of those heels? If they're larger than 3" or 7.5cm, they will have to be reduced in height or replaced.
Do you have any photos of the scarf from the picture? It looks like the material may not be durable and may need to be replaced with a sturdier fabric.
I would recommend adjusting the knees higher to that they don't slip under the shins. I know you mentioned shnees, but if you decide to stick with the knees, I would recommend this.

This turned out awesome! So glad to see it all together!

Is that a leather bikini with plates attached to it???

If so, that's kind of brilliant! Haha

Your kit looks awesome!! I really love your paint scheme; especially the helmet!

Hey all!   :<3:

Thanks for checkin my stuff out!

Haha, that is a handmade leather cod. I'm not sure of anyone who makes leather bikinis and if I did, .....I would Ironically get one. The heels on my boots are 2 Inches in height, they're pretty comfortable and I'm fairly competent in them, I can run in them.

As for the scarf, its a lightweight linen/cheesecloth...ish. material. I hesitate to call it that because it is thicker than cheesecloth. It flows REALLY nicely, which I do tend to prefer over heavier fabrics that don't move as much.

My present knees are realllly tight on my knee. and they're printed, otherwise I'd just reshape em like I did with my collar.

If the scarf is too light weight looking, I'm always willing to take on a heavier linen, I'll just have to spend some time figuring out if I want to embroider it or make it a half cape or somthin.

I will admit to skimming the first two pages, since your started your build early last year. That said, I can't pick out almost anything that needs reworking from a visual perspective, save that your belt-pouches-straps-bikini thing might all need a bit of more visible weathering for approval. It was something I got dinged on myself; weathering on my pouches and holsters wasn't visible enough. For the knees, if you don't switch to shnees, you can actually reshape 3d prints a little, depending on the base print material (PLA, ABS, etcetera). You might be able to loosen them up a hair with careful use of a heat gun so you can set them properly.

The great thing about Twi'lek is that upgrading a standard kit to a Twi kit mostly just means a new helmet and an armored lekku head piece!

My only other suggestion is a personal preference (that people who follow my build comments are probably getting sick of seeing, lol), the which is to add thigh plates or pouches. I find it too look unbalanced and sometimes a little weird when someone has shins and no thighs or the other way around. No thighs won't impact on whether your armor is approvable by the App Team, I just think it would look better with them.

Great work, all told! :D

Slade Kel,

Thanks for your insight! Yeah My partner has the same sort of eye for balance and I do agree that I am noticing the odd composition due to lacking of thighs. Thigh pouches are a fascinating idea.  Do you have any examples of that?

I'm laughing so much at everyone calling my cod a bikini,  I'll make sure to weather up my 'bikini' soon. Haha.  For the knee/shin situation, I really don't mind making new armor, I like my new design. But I may try to gently heat and ply them just so they're more comfortable in the meantime.

Oya!

I've done a quick half cape design, ideally in a linen or heavy cotton. Inspired by the beauty that is the Planet, Felucia.  :<3:

I'm finding any excuse to use gradient dying in prep for my Padme gown, (ONE DAY.) This design includes some organic Smocking, embroidery and beadwork. And maybe a Tassle at the mounting at the shoulder.
