I saw that blaster Heather is making for you and can verify, it is a sexy beast.

You'll be very happy with it I believe.

Oh hey! Update time again?! Yep.  :like:

First off thanks to everyone at the armour party on the 14th! Good day!

Armour party: Fitting/forming begins.

Also had my belt pouches come in the mail! Threw the holster with the side arm on it and happy with how it looks!

Got new gauntlets and  the blaster from Heather but still have to paint/assemble it! Pictures of that when I got it!

That is it for now!

Update time again, I used the long weekend to my benefit!  :cookie:

First up: The Helmet! Went and picked it up from my friends where I had it mailed and then added in some magnets so the antenna was now detachable for storage/packing.

Next was painting. Got the gauntlets all pained up and ready to go as well as my main weapon (thanks again to Heather for that!).

Also added some wraps on the grips of both rifle and pistol mostly because I liked how it looked. Took some cloth given to me last armour party and died it in tea for half an hour, dried it, then glued it on.

Final amount of work done for the night picture! Taken at my friends place, please don't mind their mess. >.>

Got home today and some boots I wanted came in! Side zipper boots I am going to use so I do not have to worry about laces!

Also found some gloves from other costumes and had to decided what to use, in the end the longer all black ones were picked as it worked better with the gauntlets and the black and grey ones were giving me a headache.

Final pictures: All that I have done so far put together!

One with boots and gloves. Sorry it is blurry. Trying to use the timer function and THEN put a glove on? Ergh. I had once try in me and this is what I got.

I am going to have to figure out that problem with the flight suit poofing out like that when I put the boots on. I am sure I can just wrap those bits tighter around my leg when I put the boots on else I will have to get leg wraps to go under the shin armour etc. That is a future problem!

As always any advice or tips more then welcome!

That is it for now folks! See you in the next update!

Those blasters look sic! Well done!

Yeah spats will help immensely with the bagginess. There are some tutorials online on how to make some.

Got what should be the last of the soft parts in the mail today. I hope.  :porg2:

A kama and waist cloth came in.

And now one to see how they look with the belt. It should be enough for the three waist items thing but also have to look into if I still need a loincloth or armour with them.

Whelp, finally got another update!

First off the armour party that happened last year!

Hours of work to finish ONE shin gaurd >.<

Thanks to everyone there though!

After that decided to try the boiling method a few people told me about. It seemed to work a bit faster then a heat gun but I had to be careful doing it! The pot was so big it basically covered TWO burners.

Did not get the thigh armour done as I found out it they are a bit too large so now I need to get them cut down to actually fit.  Not sure if I want to round them off or have then more straight lines and points like it originally is at the bottom...

That's it for now. Still got to work on the chest stuff though I am getting some help with that from a member out eat and then one a few smaller things are done hopefully I can start painting etc.

So I have having trouble with the chest plates, not only getting the top part formed properly but also attaching them together. Instead of giving up on the legacy plates instead I took someone's advice and asked for help. Someone agreed to make them for me and while it feels kind of like cheating at least they are going to be done! Thank you to the member out east who agreed to do this!

Also just got told today it is finished! So happy with the look of them even though it is not painted yet! Waiting for this to be sent in the mail! (The bigger one is mine)

Well in the views of Stompin Tom, you're still "at it and to it, to it and at it". 😁

But don't feel bad, many people have kits assembled for them. Like 95% TK's at least I bet!

Oh, hey. Me again! Long time no see! Soooooooooooo as you may have noticed I haven't really been up to updating this thing in a while. Also I have not DONE anything in a while. Well that has all changed! Had a brief bought of wanting to do stuff yesterday and found some photos from an update I forgot to do before so now you get them all in one go!

First: The stuff I did before! Got in the chest plate from out eat and decided to make it look all nice and pretty.

I may not be the best at black wash but it adds it's own personality to it.  :porg2:

And now for what I did yesterday!

First off I painted some of the stuffed I had formed earlier. Mostly the boot armour and sknees.

Now I know you are wondering why the red did not go all the way down like the white? Well, it is because I messed up the paint job and all my attempts to fix it just made it worse so in the end I sanded down the bottom half and repainted it blue and made it look like it was done on purpose >.>

Next I had to reshape my thigh plates are the originals where larger then my thighs by A LOT.

And was I going to let all that extra material go to waste? Nope. Now they will be the armour backings for my gloves!

Insert obligatory "and now I do the forming" photo here.

Had to trim the hand armour plates down a bit because after forming them I tried taping them to the glove with my bracers on and it just didn't fit right. So I trimmed and trimmed again till they would.

Next painting! Though usually I just put things on the table on the balcony and paint this time I did a smart!  :like:

Found a couple jars and used painters tape to tape the plates onto them while I painted them. Still got a lot on the table but not as much as before! And it was so much easier to get the sides of the plates!

Final pictures of thigh armour and glove plates:

You'll notice that on the red hand plate there are two rather large silver sections on the edges? Whelp that is due to me accidentally taking a couple chunks out of it by accident while trimming them down >.> Ah well, it works I guess!

All that is left now:
Get new Shoulder templates.
Cut new shoulder pieces.
Form new shoulder pieces.
Paint new shoulder pieces.
Once I get all my soft parts get back get to attaching everything.
Weather soft parts.

There is finally light at the end of this tunnel!  :mtu:

UPDATE: Tony was able to get me a pre cut out shoulder armour template. That is one more step down.

You have been busy!

For the record, I didn't even notice the red on the shin didn't go all the way down. Looks almost natural. Also, to paraphrase a saying, "the armour wants what it wants".
