So I posted this in the helmet forum but i am going to post it here just because while its attached to my helmet it is still going to be an electronic. So I will be attempting to attach a small tac rail to the ear cap of my helmet and then attaching a small tac tight to that. Any thoughts if this design will cause any problems. I know its going to take some star earsing up but hope this will add a much needed look to my kit.

So I have a light on the side of my helmet as well. I used a piece of rail for mine, in case I wanted to swap it out for a GoPro or something at a big event. I was told that the rail was fine as long as it was not visible. My solution to this was to just wrap it in some "dirty rags/rope". Hope this helps.

Because I have yet to start on my kit, I'm considering 3D printing my earcaps with space for a light and wiring them into my helmet (depending on the application team's stance on that)

A good project. What did you want to use the lantern for? Maybe you need it in your work? For example, I really missed just a lamp, so that in the evening sitting in a chair to read a book. My wife goes to bed before me, and the bright light prevents her from sleeping. On New Year's Eve, my daughter gave me an attractive automatic amazon night light. It adjusts the lighting to the time of day, and I just sit down next to the outlet, and its light is perfectly enough to comfortably read a book. And he does not disturb his wife's sleep. In general, it's a great gift, as it turned out. More valuable than the one more sweater given by my wife xD
