Hmmmmm.... I would say it's hard to say which boots to keep because it would depend on how everything looks all together. That being said, the brown ones will probably hold up a lot better whole trooping - I have a feeling the light colored boots will start to fall apart relatively quickly and might require another pair sooner.

I swap out my Fett boots on rougher troops or when I can't get to them.  I generally like the look of the brown as it goes nicely with the brown leather belt.

Little update! My Bobamaker gloves came in! And despite being a large, they're a bit small for me. They'll work, but I sort of have "webbed" fingers a little bit. My patches arrived from Fenn too, so we're all set there.




As I'm returning my boots for a smaller size, I noticed they have gray ones available. I know Mi'ix and everyone else said the brown boots would work better vs the other shoe, but how do you guys feel about the gray version?




I kinda like them, but if brown would work best, I'll stick to the color I had previously ordered.

You can always paint those elastic parts of the boots a different color as well to mimic the Boba boots.

Small but important update!

I finally got my flightsuit in to the person who does all my alterations. (I have little experience or confidence behind a sewing machine)

The flightsuit was a bit long in the torso, crotch and backside area, though it's not very obvious in this picture:


She will be bringing the bottom half up and taking some of the excess out of the midsection to hopefully get the fit to be a bit better. I'm not sure if the legs will need taken in or not. They didn't seem too bad when I threw my current kits plates on just to test it out. Reference photo:


This is currently just pinned to reflect where the alterations will be made.




In that last awkward photo I'm pulling the slack together, not "picking my seat."

I'm feeling better about these now and hope that the alterations get everything where I need it to be.

I got some surplus pouches in for this kit. I'm planning on cleaning them up and conditioning them a little to at least get some moisture back in the leather. But I love how beat up they are to begin with.


A buddy sent me some resin knee darts that he's been working on casting. A nice little surprise that I'm excited to put on this build. Also got a set of yellow chest lights from Fi.


I've settled on a bucket for this one... I think. I reached out to Dha Bral to see if he had any BOMB buckets left. And sure enough, he had one. Most helmets are very tight on me because of my dreadlocks. In my current bucket, I only have a little bit of padding on my forehead. Trying to wear it for long periods of time sometimes starts to give me a headache, so I'm looking forward to a little more room in there.

He may need to cast new ears but that's no biggie as I'm not in a rush. I plan on adding an aluminum borden and rangefinder to this.

My part sourcing continues. I managed to get ahold of some Kruser knee darts. While not exactly standard Fett style, I'm curious if they're close to what we need to meet the BRL. I also managed to get an aluminum RF stalk that will hopefully fit the Bucket I'll be getting. My buddy threw in a few extras as well. Those are Hasboro "big visor" Fett ear caps. Not sure if they'll work for anything, but I might find a use somewhere else.



I also found this chunk of cloth that I have. I'm not entirely sure of the material blend, but it drapes nicely. My original plan was to snag a used canvas half shelter from eBay, but I just haven't wanted to spend that quite yet. If this works, I'll certainly dye it to an appropriate color. It's weight is like linen and duck cloth had a baby, so it's somewhere in the middle.

So the part sourcing continues! I've been working with Bryn Cin'Prudii on a little project. He already offers a print of Brian Matyas' concept Jodo Kast's right gauntlet so I wanted  to see of he could work out Boba's right gauntlet from the Twin Engines of Destruction album. Kast does not use the concept style gauntlet in that comic strip, but I'm okay with that. However, he did not disappoint!

Notice the lack of a keypad and a recessed try, for that matter. I really don't think I could have asked for a better interpretation. I can't wait to get these gauntlets in!

Not a major update since build progress has stalled. Being focused elsewhere has this pushed to the side a bit. However, the gauntlets came in a while ago and I realized that I never shared them.

They seem like they'll fit great! The Jodo one is a bit longer on my forearm, which doesn't bother me and might add to the asymmetry look if I do mismatched colors. There's also several cool places to add LEDs in these!
