Since I'm currently sewing a pair of Starfleet uniform pants, I thought that I might sew the whole flightsuit myself. Just need to use a longer type of pants, and make a shirt part with the same cloth, and add a girth belt (or maybe a simple waist sash) to hide the fact that it's not one part.

Also, I decided to change the design of the chest part. I thought that a Neo-Crusader like shape would be cool, but with the mentioned cloth/plate mixture.

I'm currently building a shotgun like blaster, and have found a pipe system that looks promising. If the paint holds on it, I'll make the shoulder bells with them.

I'm having a little problem with the helmet.
Would it be a good idea to create something mask-like, and mount it on a helmet?
With adding a background that the mask was part of grampa's armour, and I wanted to use it?

Explain "Mask Like" a bit.

Certainly some of the Late crusaders in the comics show something that looks similar to a mask "face" on the basic helmet, like this one:



Some of the Early era ones have a similar look to them, but I haven't looked that close at them as I have the Late era ones.

Okay, I found the time today to put on my soft parts, and  pose for a picture.
Here's it so far.

And seeing that black leather looks cool on that flightsuit, I screwed my plan covering my plates in brown cloth, and decided to use the leather instead.

Definetly.
Now, my sister left a few days ago, and took her camera with her. So I can't make progress pictures.
BUT there IS progress, I re-designed the plates to fit my frame, and cut them out of the mentioned leather. Still need the cod piece, but I lost my template for it.
Then I "only" have to construct the PVC plates to get sewn in, and buy the padding. Then everything gets sewn together, I design/cut/bend/paint my shin and elbow armour, and... then I still need a helmet.
And I have no idea how to do that.
