cold weather soft parts

so, for my kit, i want to include a lot of sewn/cloth elements, and have been making as much of it from scratch as possible. for both character backstory, and practicality (live in canada) i'm trying to make my kit suitable for cold weather wear. for that, i've just redone my flak vest. the outside is a lightweight wool, lined with heavier winter wool, polyester padding, and then finally canvas as an inner layer. everything done myself, no commercial patterns.

neck seal is built into the flak vest

adding a small front panel so the ab plate isn't hanging off, and to add some more texture to the design

inside quilting. i used eyelets and chicago screws to attach the plates to the vest.

velcro for the collar plates/primary cape

with collar/cape

cape is stretch suede. prestine right now, will be trimming and weathering it soon

also have a fur shawl cape for when it's particularly cold out.

i'm hoping this will be acceptable for a kama. found it at work and it was the perfect colors for my kit. not sure if the pattern would be considered too "earthy" though.opinions?

i'm planning on also remaking my flight suit from scratch, but i've been having some difficulty with how to draft the pattern for that. lot of trial and error working with 1-piece patterns like that haha. anyways, thoughts and comments are appreciated~

Looks awesome!
Hope my feedback about the pattern helps, although you appear to be killin it on the sewing!

I -think- so?.  Only did an intro to textiles/weaving at school. The cloth is blue in the middle with brown crossweave around around the edges, so where the weave overlaps in the corner it becomes solid brown. Will try to get a shot of it flat for when the app team gets back

hoping this glove combination will be allowed once the logos are covered/removed. wanted something kind of like jin's gloves with the different colored fingertips, and these fingerless boxing gloves fit really well over my everyday leather gloves haha.
