so, for my kit, i want to include a lot of sewn/cloth elements, and have been making as much of it from scratch as possible. for both character backstory, and practicality (live in canada) i'm trying to make my kit suitable for cold weather wear. for that, i've just redone my flak vest. the outside is a lightweight wool, lined with heavier winter wool, polyester padding, and then finally canvas as an inner layer. everything done myself, no commercial patterns.

neck seal is built into the flak vest

adding a small front panel so the ab plate isn't hanging off, and to add some more texture to the design

inside quilting. i used eyelets and chicago screws to attach the plates to the vest.

velcro for the collar plates/primary cape

with collar/cape

cape is stretch suede. prestine right now, will be trimming and weathering it soon

also have a fur shawl cape for when it's particularly cold out.

i'm hoping this will be acceptable for a kama. found it at work and it was the perfect colors for my kit. not sure if the pattern would be considered too "earthy" though.opinions?

i'm planning on also remaking my flight suit from scratch, but i've been having some difficulty with how to draft the pattern for that. lot of trial and error working with 1-piece patterns like that haha. anyways, thoughts and comments are appreciated~
