Okay more fun with gauntlets and some repair work.  One of the plates on my kama was broken...still not sure how?  Anyway, I glued it back together and then put some JB Weld on the back to reinforce the piece.  I am thinking of gluing a bit of fabric to the piece as well to help it hold together.

I do think I need to start a gauntlet thread so I'll just show how far I have gotten.

And a layer of primer to help me identify where I still need to fill in,

And then some more Bondo!

So I finally finished sewing on all my magnets to my vest.  I also did a bit more work on my gauntlet.  I added a box for a knife, added some pieces to help secure the lid and lined the box with foam.

Armor fully attached to the vest.

And did a little work on making a scalpel.

Nearly finished with the paint on my gauntlets.  I still need to add the gold and do the black and brown washes to complete the weathering.  I think I might a few more details like a stud sort of look to the pieces on the front.  I haven't decided yet.  I also got paint on my scalpel.

These still need to be made a bit more warzy but they're on their way to getting there.

I also started making some pouches for my belt.

I finally did some weathering on my vest and I decided to do the pouches at the same time.  Because I chose black it's kind of hard to see the wear I put on them.  I did make sure to rough of some of the stitching which is easier to see.

I also weathered the strap that holds my holster onto my belt.

And I started on my bacta injector!

Thanks Dan Hawk.  I think I am getting close.  ;D

I decided I wanted a bit more weathering on my softs.  It still doesn't look quite balanced compared to my plates so I added a bit of brown acrylic to my vest.  I like the look it gave.  Made it a bit more grungy without taking away from the black.  Now I just need to do the same thing to the pouches, holster and kama.

It's still a little hard to see the weathering on the black but if you compare weathered with versus without, you can see the difference.

And I got some weathering on my gloves.  Some good old fashioned digging in the dirt and a bit of charcoal from the campfire pit.  I'll probably wipe them down a bit after I let the dirt settle into the fabric.

Your gloves look fantastic, how did you attach the plate to them?

Hey Dan Hawk, I attached my hand plates with chicago screws.  I hand sewed some eyelets in to my gloves  for the screws to fit through.  You can see this better if you go to my soft parts WIP.  About halfway down the first page shows the process I used to attach them.

Update:

I got the brown acrylic on my gun belt, pouches and Kama!

Left has the wash to compare the two.

I made and weathered the sheath and belt loop for my Beskad today.  I finished my helmet, more or less.  I finished my jaw armor and mounted it to my cut down baclava.  I still need to mount the fans in my helmet but that is more for comfort.  I think I am just about there!

So I had a day off!!  :porg2:
What better way to spend it then cleaning and working on my kit.

I am completely sold on the Mandos with spears.  And since Mando has shown us a lovely simple, not vibro spear, I am going that route.

So I observed images and made a template

Then I put it on a piece of wood

Cut as much as I could with a saw

Then got sanding!

And some more sanding

I as I am a musician the idea of a literal 'instrument' of death has a certain appeal.  As such I am attempting make a bes'bev.  I have seen a lot of flute like versions but there is really no definitive version of this instrument so I took some inspiration by the bass recorder that does the lead on the Mandalorian Theme song and went the recorder route.  I got the mouth piece done and then realized that I didn't have the connector so I set it aside for now.  Pretty much a glorified whistle right now.

I am also starting on my extras to get into brigades...medic here I come.

SO, virbro scalpel, regular scalpel and not sure what I will do with the third one.   Also did some work on my bacta injector.

So today I got some more work done on my spear.  A bit more sanding to make it a touch thinner and have a more defined gradient between the middle and the edge.  I also got the wood filler on and sanded.  Then I got the first layer of primer on.  YAY!  I also worked on the counter balance for the other end.

I finished my vibro scalpel.

I also added some filler to a few places on my bacta injector.

Today, Christmas Day, I had both my sisters over.  We did a photo shoot!

And...I made a bag yesterday...weathered it today and took a few pictures with it.  All that is inside it right now are my two scalpels.

I am aiming for brigades.

Made a bandolier today, I think it came out pretty good.  It is removable, which will be useful down the road.  The base strap is the same as my lower belt.  I added some nylon strapping to hold down the buckle.  The buckle is intended to eventually attach to my spear/anything I may carry on my back, eventually.

Attachment point is on my gunbelt.

It attached to the belt via snaps.  (still don't like adding those)

Attached my buckle...after painting it to not look like plastic.  So two layers of silver, clear coat, then glossy black topped with graphite power and some usage damage.

And weathered

I also worked on my bacta injector...all it needs is some weathering washes and I need to make my bacta for the tube.
