You can always use bondo spot putty! It’s pre-mixed and comes in a tube! It’s available at most automotive stores :)

You're certainly not wasting any time! Bondo is a lot easier than it might seem at first. The best advice I can give is make small amounts at a time (it hardens quick, especially if you accidentally overdo it with the hardening cream) and put thin layers at a time. There's nothing worse than putting too much on and spending hours sanding.

Thanks for the tip...I don't mind sanding but truly not a fan of spending hours at it.   We got a break in the rain...weatherman says only two days of sun so I figure get it done while the getting is good and before the humidity starts messing with the paint.

Definitely something I'll look into.  Might be easier for smaller fill job like this to have a bit premixed in a tube.

Update:
I got the second layer of silver base color on today and will probably try to squeeze in the clear coat...pictures to come.

Promised pictures have arrived.  I got both layers of silver and then a clear coat on the pieces.  Then I went ahead and started doing my weathering with my matte grey.

I also  added the last little embellishments to my shoulder bells.  They are now ready for spot filling.

Update:

I still haven't spot filled my shoulder bells that will probably not happen till after spring break as I will be traveling overseas.  I did how ever get several more layers of paint on my armor pieces and all they need now is an acrylic wash to grungy them up and then a sealing coat of something.  A couple need a little spot fixing where my tap came loose.

I also got started on my shin-knees.  I am doing a PVC base with the thiner plastic as the next two layers.  I don't want the full PVC over my knee because I am a fan of knee caps staying where they are meant to be.  ;)

So due to the COVID-19 my missions groups is not leaving the country over spring break.  I now have a week off of work.  So what will I do with my time?

I got some bondo ( got the tubed kind that was reccomended by...

You can always use bondo spot putty! It’s pre-mixed and comes in a tube! It’s available at most automotive stores :)
)  And filled in my shoulders and hand armor seams.

And then I started sanding....and sanding & more sanding.

Finally I continued to work on my shins.  A few hours with an electric sander then some hand sanding for the final bits.  I also added the next layer to my shins.  They still need the final layer that will add some decoration and some holes drilled to attach my straps too.

I might try to start my scratch build helmet this week.  I have some buckets and a hard hat so I might try to venture into that area next.

You can do it...I think I'm up to 10 or 11 scratch-built buckets myself. ;)

Care to share a WIP for one?   :D
I have found a few good tutorial-like WIP's along with the actual tutorials on MMCC but the more I can see the better.  That way I can avoid mistakes and get the best I can make.

Update:

I got the final layer on my shins...they look decidedly storm trooper esque...hopefully once I add some damage and color that won't be the case.  I also started on my first weapon.  The scraps spoke to me and said they wanted to be a kal.  So, yeah, I made my first prop weapon.  Not done obviously but I am pretty pleased with the results so far.  I also got some spot putty on my chest plate.  Progress!!

So I felt pretty good about my sanding so I put my first layer of primer on the shoulders, hands, shin-knees and kal.

I have some more sanding to do apparently.

I also got started on my helmet build.  Here's my WIP for that as well as a photo of how far I got.

I actually had one that I created at one time on the forums, but I'm not sure where it made off to after the Halls of Knowledge section was created... I'll look around my PC to see if I have a copy saved here somewhere. ;)

If you find it I am definitely interested.  I had to set my bucket aside today when I got frustrated with adding in the cheekbones? cheek pieces?.   I did get some work done on other pieces of my kit.

Update:

Stalled out on the helmet when I tried to attach the cheek pieces but here it is as I left it.

I made and cut out my pattern for the trauma plates for the chest and ab plates...I need to do a little  more reworking with the collar plates.
I also got all my layer of primer and sanding done for the shin-knees, hands, shoulders and kal.  I was even able to get one coat of silver on.

I finally found that old tutorial on my PC, and uploaded the pdf to my Mediafire account; you can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ck3tl3bctbjooo3/Mando_helmet_tutorial_V.2.pdf/file

Don't worry, it's a safe download. ;)

It's not the most polished of tutorials (and I never got around to doing the earcaps part, lol), but hopefully it will give you some additional insights. :)

Thanks so much! ;D It was quite helpful.  If it's okay with you I like to add your link to my Helmet WIP as well.

I did get the Cheeks attached to my helmet today.  Though I am still a little unsure as to how stable they are.  I used a lot of glue but more is not always better.  I am going to let it sit and cure and give it a test tomorrow.

I also got another layer of silver on.  I have added some physical damage to these pieces too.

Then I got all my trauma plates traced and cut out.  I almost finished sanding them but got sidetracked.  I will probably finish that tomorrow.
