Hello,are there any patterns for a flak vest? I know absolutely nothing about sewing but decided to try and make whatever parts I can for myself since I don't have a lot of money to buy custom vests.For reference I am about 1.77m tall and 85kg.

this question comes up a lot, and while there's not a specific pattern, i'm wondering if i should do some kind of tutorial on how to draft a flak vest pattern, or if i should just make a scaleable pattern to either post here or sell. flak vests are one of the main pieces i sell, so you can see why i'd be hesitant to just..give away my patterns, but at the same time, i feel like it'd be very helpful to everyone else, so...i'm kinda torn. ^^;

I am using this tutorial to make a vest (really just how to draw a pattern) but this tutorial is old and not terribly clear so a newer tutorial could be very helpful!

Well, almost every site that sells costume/dress templates. With a little search you can find something pretty close to what you need and modify it. For example I used a civil war uniform for an imperial jacket. You can easily turn a waistcoat (and many others) in a vest. Maybe first try with scrap/cheap fabric.

Or in Jadd Halls of Knowledge, you can find here how to create your templates from a clothing item that fits as you like. (A cheap jeans jacket or something else)
