Pretty much that, and variations thereof for legacy armor. It really comes down to comfort; permanently affix together any parts you can (chest to chest, ab to ab, collar to chest, chest to ab, etcetera) and do the rest per Sep's internal strapping technique.
Word of advice, though, us the BB Code on imgur so that your images are embedded directly in the post, rather than as links. You can copy the BB Code listed with each pic as is and just paste it right into your post. There are a lot of folks that open a thread, see links and no pics and just leave without even reading, even when they're links to a reputable site like imgur.
Obviously not that much you can do with flat plates, but I also advise you doing your best to at least tape the torso plates to you and get pics posted up. You could even just trace them onto paper or card stock and tape those on instead, to get an idea of how they fit with a bit of shaping. I see you're approved, but if you haven't done legacy before, they're a different fit than modern era plates. Getting them from a vendor also means you get a generic size, so you might have to trim them down to fit.
