I want to thank Solus Kyr, Zarah Koreen and Ca Loar for allowing me to bug them with tons of questions (poor Thomas), giving me tons of advice and for some of the material. You guys rock! Also, I'm thanking my twin (Sandra) for helping me with my flight suit. She did all the sewing and adjustments! Sisters are just awesome!
The kit is finished except for the collar piece, girth belt, holster and pouches. I just needed it ready by Halloween so I could wear it to work.

This is what I started off with. Thank you Solus Kyr (Thomas) . The helmet I bought off of E-bay. It's a cross between a MS and a Don Post from the information that I looked up.

The pattern that I chose for my design.

What the chest and belly armor looks like after being cut out.

The armor premired.

Primered helmet

Solus Kyr (One End) lending a hand literally. He's in touch with his femine side

After the primer, I used rubber cement on places on the armor to give it the weathered, dented and scorched look. I didn't want to look like a shiney noob! Then I applied black spray paint.

I felt that I had it too weathered, so after this picture I got rid of some of it.

My Helmet with battle damage. I put scratches on top to make it look like claw marks.
I then painted the armor red, used blue tape to make the lines and painted the helmet. Since I was on a very tight schedule, I forgot to take pictures after I painted it red and before putting it on the flight suit and the vest. I used a medium leather vest that I bought from a thrift store and made some changes to it. I covered up the zipper with extra leather and put in snaps that I bought from Michaels (just a note-make sure you buy all the same type of snaps. I thought they were the same, but different colors. My bad!) I put the female part of the snaps on the armor pieces and the male snaps on the vest and flight suit. To make sure that the snaps were matched up, my son and I came up with the idea of putting wet white nail polish around the rim of the snaps on the armor piece, eyeballing the placement on the vest and flightsuit, then pressing it on the material. Viola, I had all these white circles so I knew where to place snaps. Here's the outcome of my first kit:

And here's me at work, except without the purple skirt. I had used an elastic wide belt, but decided I didn't care for that look since I looked bare in the midriff area and it kept bunching up the leather vest and the belly armor.

Here's the semi-final product (yes we're in the midst of remodeling). I still need to make a girth belt, leather pouches, collar piece and install a new T-visor. This one has a few areas that have glue (super glue) as well as hot glue which I'm unable to get off. It's my first kit and Thomas (Solus Keer) felt I did pretty good. I pretty much did all of this in 3 weeks. I wanted it ready for Halloween so I could wear it to work (I'm a MRT-Med. Records Tech) and everyone there loved it. Our doctor loved it and said I was a big nerd as well as our physician assistant.

I still need to do something with the key holes since my ponytail was sticking out (Thomas warned me about that, too), put a small fan in (already have that) and I was thinking about changing the gauntlets a bit. I didn't want a jet pack or backpack since I have the cape. I'm thinking the cape might be a little too long in the back and having it shortened so it's mid thigh.

Going for the serious look.

I still haven't figured out what I want to do with the helmet since I don't want to use the range finder and I need some ideas for a girth belt to go over the purple skirt. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
