Flight Suit Flat Pattern Question...Duct Tape?!?!?
« on: Apr 26, 2020, 07:26 PM »
I've seen a woman on YouTube who makes great foam costumes use duct tape to create patterns for her foam work. She actually takes the duct tape and applies it over her body parts, and the carefully cuts it away in large pieces to make paper patterns from.

Has anyone tried using this technique for making patterns for flightsuits or vests? Seems like it could be easy to, after taping yourself up, take a marker and draw on the costume to locate the necessary details or stitching for seams. Heck, start with an old pair of sweat pants and a longsleeve t shirt and you could just remove them and then cut them easily up.

Even easier if two people work together on it.
