Getting some more work in before the my clans upcoming Armor Party.







Got the print lines filled in, smoothed out and distressed. Very happy with the results, glad it was called out.





Still missing a few key pieces before I have my arsenal and kit together. Was able to make a custom holster out of remnant pieces of sintra, chicago screws and suede.





Needed some strap clips in case I wanted to secure better, but needed them 60mm and sturdy. To the 3D printer it is.

Next task: short cloak.

Bought some raw duck cloth and dye. Wanted to have a little weight/durability to it but still be 'bellowy'. Almost cut out a pattern to wrap the cloak around my neck like a scarf...but it did not feel like a method that would reassure that it stayed in place.

To the sewing machine it is.







About an hour of sewing and 30 minutes in a dye wash. Very pleased with the resulting texture and color; twisting the fabric before placing in the dye gave it some nice distressed/weathered spots to build on. Adding velcro tonight, hopefully with the kit to see how it all looks together.

Long time no see. Been a little busy with this and that, haven't had a chance to post updates. Got geared up for pre app shots for our armor party, this is where I stood then.









Still thinking about doing the bicep armor, but the time crunch prevented me from painting the cartridges and it seemed silly to have the armor with the ammo slots missing, well, ammo.

Was ready in time for the armor party, good some quality feedback as expected. Was also able to get some great shots courtesy of our Ruus'alor.




Not sure why my sash and cloak came out purple. Maybe he got fancy with the filters 








Had to gear up for Halloween with the crew as well. This was a week before we trooped. Squad goals, right?







Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago, got my app back.  I expected the absolute worst but I only had to adjust a few components: snap showing on the back of the knee, cape needs to conform to the armor, a few print lines on the blaster and dreaded vest sag... So back to the workshop for app #2.

Here is where I stand now. Replaced the green sash for a dark brown one; felt like it clashed overall with the palette. Along with requested changes I also added new straps to secure the shknee and one for another leather pouch on the left leg, and LEDs into the gauntlets since I had the time.


Before and after. Glad I repainted it.

Looking pretty good dude. I am glad you repainted the repaint of the cheeks back to white. It really makes the t-visor and the blue trim pop.

My only current 2 cents at a quick glance would be to remove the greeb on the visor. Nothing beats the look of the traditional T-visor in terms of the menacing look. Mando buckets were designed canon wise to withstand hard environments and even sustain themselves in space for short periods of time as is.

Truthfully, I haven't seen the helmet without the breather greeb since it was installed. It's not permanently fixed to the visor either, so at the very least I am interested to see what it looks like without it.

Perfect! Check out what it looks like without it then. Hard to beat a classic T-visor look, in my humble opinion

Been a minute since I've updated this thread, but almost a year later I finally got this kit Brigades Force Hunter approved

I'll be re-using this thread to post any upgrades, cause 'your armor is never finished'.

As it stands currently:
- Possible jetpack to pair with boots
- Re wrapping blaster/sword/sheath
- New ammo belt/holster made from leather


I'm sure this list will evolve over time, as kit work tends to do. But looking forward it all.
