Electronic Shooting Ear Muffs?

Out of curiosity, has anyone attempted to use or modify a pair of electric shooting ear muffs as a hearing assist?
Here is a link I found for a relatively cheap pair that may work.

Thoughts?

Reviews indicate the volume reduction isnít great, but everyone seems to love the amplification. If you wanted to integrate it directly into your helmet, you probably could with minimal modification. Remove the headband and use the muffs themselves as an earcap component. Just make sure to camouflage it with greeblies.

You have a great video from Mandalore himself explaning how he built something like that from scratch for his helmet.

Iím also interested in if this can work. I have some Peltor Sordin replicas that have a microphone attachment with a cord designed to plug into a PTT. I wonder if I can set it up to use as a voice amp too
