I'm considering making a backpack from an old cosplay prop which I used only twice. So I was thinking of repurposing it .
It's a hardshell backpack, so I'm gonna remove all the existing components and re-do the entire thing.Is this kinda backpack acceptable ?
I also plan to make this functional, so I can store stuff

I plan to conceal the zipper and overlap it with sintra but still keeping it functional OR remove it entirely and use a buckle to keep it closed

Question : DO I need to remove the straps and attach it to a backplate ?
Or can I just carry it like a normal backpack ?
I also plan to add ammo cartridge along the straps so it doesn't look too bare
