Here is the latest update and where it will probably stay for a while (it's getting a bit cold to be able to properly paint where I live... not to mention the 100% humidity).

To-do list:
1. go back and repaint the lower cheeks where the tape was.
2. clean up and put another coat on the red stripes on the earcaps.
3. make new antennas.
4. add more of the window tint (after fixing the bubbles there right now) to completely obscure the inside of the helmet.
5. add 7th fleet sigil on forehead, possibly chiss symbol on earcap, and possibly a few other red or purple highlights around the helmet.
6. think of some greebles to put in the ugly empty space beneath the earcaps and behind the fins (I am aware there are still layer lines in that negative space, I didn't worry about it too much since I always planned on putting something there. Now I just need to figure out what).
7. put padding on the inside to keep it in place and prevent my nose from being pressed against the visor as seen in the last picture.
As always, any ideas, comments, or advise is appreciated!
You can get cellophane sheets off of Amazon for a decent price and use that roll of window tint to make your own colored visor.
Thanks a ton for the advice! I did wind up going with the welding visor for a few reasons. Mainly, it seamed sturdier than the cellophane (it's keeping itself in place with tension right now) and it also seemed like it would do better at preventing it from fogging up (I got one with anti fog coating on it). I might still go back and get some cellophane later on to add to the tint and experiment with the effects of different colors though (and also if the tint isn't quite blocking the inside of the helmet like it was supposed to).
