Heavy-Legacy Trench Raider Mando
« on: Feb 14, 2021, 07:17 AM »
So my planned kit is inspired by several images i found way back for an rpg i was running, and they inspire me now. Artist unknown. Work has yet to start, but i considerin this PRE-WIP and applies here too!

Then there is the 3d rendition of my helmet (should be ready for pickup early march, excited for that.

I REALLY feel the legacy vibes coming from the shoulder armor on this rig, and was really hoping to get some ideas on how to make them work, see if anyones got thoughts on how to MANDO it up?
One aspect i am For sure doing is a slightly more angularly shaped rendition of his knee/shin guards. My end goal is heavily armored legacy

Fascinating!

As far as "mando-ing it up," always keep in mind that it should be a mando, first and foremost. Lot of people try to build something and turn it into a mandalorian, your best bet is to think of working with a mandalorian and seeing how you can make tweaks and mods based on the existing architecture of mandos and the Star Wars Universe!

Looking very forward to seeing what you come up with! This is gonna be super rad!

Thanks! I get what you be puttin down of course, and was really thinking i would take the Legacy Templates and tweak them to fit what i want a little better, mostly in the shoulders and ab plates.
I was going to widen and lengthen the shoulders a smidgen, Similar to what i was gonna do with the ab plates. Another Thing i was gonna do was ADD more pieces of armor, namely an armored kama, bicep armor, and boot armor. As well as lots of pouches

All things you would be able to do! Just make sure to keep updating your WIP and keep the app team in the loop.

Yes, definitely do a mockup of your chest plates before cutting anything out (I wish more people would do this  ???)
I recommend usually putting these templates over your soft parts since layers of fabric will affect your size, especially when it comes to shaping your armor.

Whelp, I got a Torso mold made of duct tape to help my on my armor journey, next i am going to make a stand for it and my kit to sit on!
In Actual Armor Developement news!  I found some shoulder armor templates taht with a lil swarzy-ing up could make for a really killer set for my armor, though i am debating still adding arc trooper pauldrons so idk. On that note would it be weird looking to have both a segmented shoulder armor AND Arc Pauldrons?
Otherwise from looking at some other folks AMAZING concepts and work, ive gotten a few ideas for my own kit, and when its all done will for SURE be giving those who's ideas inspired me a shout out of thanks!

I mean, aesthetically it's just one of those "matter of opinion" things, I'd have to see it but I don't see any CRL violation in it. My personal recommendation for having angles like the ARC pauldrons would maybe be to try bell-like shoulders, even bell-like segments maybe!
Duct-tape casts are great! I'm sure that'll help.

Update!
Finally doing some experimental test fitting...

I'm thinking of tweaking the abs ALOT, gonna aim for like 5 layers not just 3 like i had semi planned originally, will add depth, and i figure i need to overlap my collar, or else figure how to make it a single piece connected too my pec plates...
any suggestions/ thoughts?

Also i got alot of soft kit stuff ordered too so yay there!

pouches after a bit of scrubbing (dying them green anyways)
