Update: I've realized I don't have creative hands lol

Do you want a step by step on how to finish from the base cast?  Or something more specific?

Ok so probably the first thing you'd want to do is find any rough spots from the casting process and send them down with a fine grit sandpaper, I'd say start with 200 and go higher or lower as needed.

Next id say would be cutting out the visor slot and painting,  to cut the material id recommend a dremel or similar tool with a small cutoff wheel.  Be sure to go slow and careful, and maybe find a scrap peice of plastic or 5 gallon bucket to maybe get a feel fore it before going at the helmet.

Next is painting, its pretty straight forward so go with whatever process you'd like for that. 

As for visors this is another personal choice, but as for installing them you have a few options.

You can: 1 use velcro to mount your visor.

2 use Chicago screws and nuts.

3 use hot glue or similar glue to permanently mount it.

(P.s, you'd probably also want to get your earcaps attached as well, you could probably use epoxy or glue to set them in place).

I, personally, recommend using chicago screws/tnuts to mount your visor. Velcro doesn’t usually have the required strength to hold a visor in place and you don’t want to permanently mount your visor in case it gets cracked/fades/you get tired of it and decide to replace it/you want to repaint your helm and need to remove it.

Depends upon whether that ear cap has a rangefinder, macrobinoculars, or other moving contraption, or not. If so, then have the upper cover piece removable and held on with one or more screws (mine is held on by the Chicago screw that acts as the axle for my rangefinder) so that you can take it off to attach/detach the rangefinder for repairs/replacement or modifications. The lower part and the  other ear cap can be permanently mounted before priming and painting.

A lot of people recommend leaving a couple thin bars in place when cutting out your visor so that the mandibles stay aligned, at least one at the chin and one just below the crossbar of the T. You can cut them out, sand them, and touch up the raw area just before installing the final visor.

Unfortunately the bucket didn't come with the visor I paid for, and the seller is incommunicado at the moment.

I've removed the excess resin around the interior lip of the helmet. and sanded the whole thing.  I'm nervous about cutting out the visor section, especially since I have a piece that goes on the inside of the helmet to help keep it in shape after cutting the visor section out, but I'm not sure where to put it to be honest. Part of me thinks there very bottom of the helmet, another thinks behind where the visor would go.

Should the earcaps go on before I prime, between priming and painting, or between painting and sealing?

If your nervous about cutting (i know i always am lol) cut away a bit from the edge to give yourself some space, it'll just mean a bit more sanding later.

As for supporting the mandibles the one at bottom should do a lot of heavy lifting, just be sure the helmet isn't gonna get heat up lol.
