I sand my prints before I do anything else, so the layer lines are smaller before spraying with filler-primer. After that, using Bondo glazing putty to fill major dings that cannot be covered with filler-primer. I always use higher grits and look for dips, lines, or chips in the gloss of the sanded primer. My perspective is 'if you can see it in the gloss, you will see it in the metallic paint.'

Thank you all so much for your help and advice! I think I will sand a little using 120 then put some wood filler/putty and then sand some more. Then I will probably use 220.

Su'cuy friends! I'm finally back at working on my kit. I painted my armor and are working on my blaster still. I put way to much putty on it, so I've had a lot to sand down. I also pained my vibroknife which was exciting :porg2:

NOTE: I also by accidently deleted all the pictures I had on imgur which in turn deleted them off my wip and topic. lucky I had some of the pictures saved on my computer but unfortunately the rest got deleted. I did my best to recreate the photos but if they don't match up perfectly that's why.

You're back!  That yellow is VIBRANT and I'm here for it. Let's see some more updates this summer.

That's a bummer about the photos - sounds like you were able to resucitate your images for the most part though.

Thanks, I'll try to update more. I should be starting my gauntlets soon and finishing up my blasters. So updates will be coming

Thanks vode! The whole picture thing was a pain. Hopefully it won't happen again. ;D

Hi Triss

How are the gaunts coming on using pvc pipe?

It's hard to work with.
Iam using  6inch underground drainage pipes for my armour plates but 4inch for the gaunts, shoulders, thighs, knees and  shins as its thinner and easier to work with.

I put mine in the oven on 120deg till I can see it bending, then you can ply it to what you want with limited time to do so.
You might need a tapered pole similar to the dimensions of your forearms, that's what I found.

Cheers

Thanks Andy for the advice!! I appreciate it. :D I have not started with my gaunts yet. I have been working on my blasters, holster and knee armor instead. Probably try to save working on the gauntlets till later on cause they are going to be hard to do.
