The Armorer - build thread
« on: Jul 19, 2021, 09:44 PM »
Hello!

So Iím doing this backwards because my Armorer is already complete  ;) so documenting the steps and process that I followed. I will add pics once all my details are typed!!

I started with soft goods from Jimmiroquai (Jim Tripon) which included the flightsuit (two piece but apron covers waist so it looks like one piece)
leather apron

leather belt

leather woven shoulder bells

suede gloves

suede leg spats

Gloves and leg spats have light weathering done in dark brown on seams and creases - I used acrylic paint and water for a light wash.

Hard armor, helmet, tools and belt greeblies were all 3D printed and prepped by my husband. I primed, painted and weathered the chest, back, helmet, tools, toe caps and greeblies.

Boots are from Skechers.

Toe caps were painted a dark chocolate brown and weathered with gun metal, black and silver:

The chest armor took a lot of time. Our printer was not big enough to do in one piece so we printed several times to get it right.

Hours of sand,prime, paint

The helmet took the longest. So many coats of primer, sand, primer, sand, prime, sand!

Tools 3D printed and assembled. Hammer has steel rod reinforcement in handle. Sanded, primed and painted and black weathered in all creases and normal grip pattern

The fur cape started life as a white fur rug. We cut to shape based on visual references and then I started dyeing using 5 different shades of hair dye
