I went ahead and painted a range finder - there was a Star Wars Night locally which presented an impetus, and an opportuinty to unofficially kit up and test run, and meet up with official and unofficial clan members there. I made sure to be clear that I am not an official member and did my best to promote the Mercs.

The weather was surprisingly gorgeous for December so I did a speed-paint and it turned out wear-able.

It'll do. I had tons of fun popping it up and down for action pose photos with excited kids and their parents who, like me, grew up on Star Wars and were thrilled to pass on the love to a new generation.

That's awesome man. The first trial run for a kit is always exciting!

How'd it go? Anything need adjusted or tweaked? Or were you fortunate to have a pretty comfortable kit?

Was it ever.
It went pretty well. My kit is designed with comfort and ease of use in mind, but I did find my weak points and know what needs to be sorted out. It was helpful to have the first outing be relatively low-stakes.  I think most of my personal fix list is stuff that doesn't hamper me for application.
It's mostly hidden reinforcing at plate attachment points, a few tweaks to how the soft parts work together, and getting helmet fans sorted - face mask under bucket is pretty swampy. I may also change the chinstrap slightly but since that's a purely optional item it shouldn't affect my application either.
I only got one photo of myself because I was too busy having a blast, I posted it in my main build log.
Thanks for checking in vod.
