Flight Suit Question
« on: Sep 24, 2021, 05:34 AM »
Hi everyone! I could really use some help with my flight suit. I originally was going to make it two pieces, but my sewing machine has been broken, so I was doing all alterations by hand, and the tailoring really isn’t working out for the top.
However, I found some coveralls on Amazon that won’t require much work on my part, and I wanted to check if they’d be ok to use, as long as I remove pockets, labels, etc. my only concern with a one piece is bathroom breaks and such, and will it be too much of a pain to deal with during long-term wear? Let me know your thoughts please! I’d love to know before I go buying anything crazy lol!

That's a fairly "standard" flight suit, from what I've seen. It's exactly what I used.

If you really want a two piece flight suit ready made, that doesn’t require much, if any modification, try a set of military BDUs. (Battle Dress Uniform). That what I use. You can get them at any military surplus store, and come in black, OD green, navy blue, and various camouflage patterns (which wouldn’t be appropriate, obviously). I wear a set of unmodified black BDUs , the shirt tucked in, with a Kama to cover the back pocket flaps.

Thank you! Both my parents had their old army BDUs in an old box, but both were, unfortunately, camo. I still like the idea, but I may just go with the one piece because I think it'll give me a more clean cut (less bunching) look as a small gal. I really appreciate the help!  ;D
