Pack for my back

Do any of you have any ideas on how to make a jump pack or backpack? I was looking at some hardshell backpacks but they're so expensive and I can't find any good ones on Amazon. So any help I could get with this would be greatly appreciated. ;D

The dollar store has alot of stuff you can use for a jet pack.  Just look for the shapes you want to incorporate into a pack, missile tips, the body, the jets, exhaust, becon, lights, nozzles, all kinds of stuff.  I love scratchbuilds.

I built a kind of grunt soldier backpack/ radio pack for a mando a few years ago being influenced a little by rebel soldier packs and sandtrooper packs.  What I did was mock it up out of cardboard and foam core, then took those pieces and traced them out onto masonite board and built the 'box' of the pack with the masonite.  I decked out the surface in true star wars style with some greeblies and metal plates and whatnot.  Still have it, need to redesign the mando that pack and helmet go to.

Wow, thanks for all the help! Currently all my armor is in a standby mode due to my unemployment :( but I hope to resume construction and build this backpack in the near future. :)
