Long time no post!
With life, work, and now covid

, I haven't had much time to write updates.
First up is the lovely boots... they are SO comfy! I'm going to paint the tan stripe black and then start on the paint splatters when I find the matching paint colors.

Here's me wearing them, please excuse my AWESOME shorts which Sabine herself would love.

Then the wig! Again, the awesome Sabine from Tracor helped me find it, and I'm going to start the long process of coloring and styling it. I bought some brown and dark purple alcohol markers (they're artist's loft brand) to dye it, I'm a bit nervous since I don't have much wig experience and have never colored a wig before, but I'm excited to try!

Now the main attraction, the armor!
I'm using 6mm sintra since my Ruus'alor recommended using thicker armor for animated characters and I totally agree. A bit harder to shape but it feels so much more durable than my normal armor.
First thing I did was make everything out of cardboard so I knew it all fit right. After I got the boots I made the shin armor pattern out of plastic wrap and duct tape. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do the boot plate so that's kind of tbd.

The most challenging was the chest pieces and the shoulders, since they're both curved and require darts. I went through a few drafts for each but finally found a design that worked.

For the chest I'm a little worried the iron heart is a little too wide but I'm going to cut and shape everything and I can easily trim it down.

Currently for armor I only have the one shoulder piece, covid is hitting a little hard so I'm not spending hours heating and sanding. Maybe next week!
Obviously when hand making and shaping a piece it gets lumpy, so I put in a lot of effort to make it look symmetrical. As of now it's not 100% smooth but I think it's about as symmetrical/in shape as I can get it.

I guess that's all for now! Oya
