Going to the toilet in armor made easier?
« on: Jun 03, 2022, 07:20 AM »
Hi everyone.
I am designing my flight suite and I found a design flaw that Iím surprised no one has written about on the forum. At least what I can find.
The conundrum is that I would have to remove most of the armor, vest and flight suite down to the thighs to go to the toilet.
Someone in here must have solved this already so thatís why Iím asking.
Iím thinking zipper from front to back between the legs or from knee to knee passed the groin. But both of these options feel like it would be uncomfortable. So how did you salve it? If you salved it. And you donít have to answer so if you feel this question is embarrassing just simply choose to stay out of it please ;-) Iím not seeking debate, just a practical solution to this problem.

The solution I use, and one I think many of us also opt for, is to build the flightsuit in two pieces. So long as it looks like one piece with the entire kit on, the CRLs allow for two-piece flightsuits to be used for this very reason.

I concur with Fenris. Go with a two-piece flightsuit. I wear a set of black BDUs, others wear scrubs, some wear Dickeis work pants and shirts, etc. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Hmm... how to say this without being disgusting...

Nope. No way to say it.

Go on with your day as if nothing happened.

Hah! They made it more difficult! Hook-and-loop fastener made it easier!

I only said they solved it. I never said it was practical.
