Ok, try not to laugh too hard at this question.  Would a girth belt from a horse work as a Mando girth belt?

Yup, it's a Mohair girthbelt for a Horse. We used to have a link up somewhere to get them from www.horselovers.com. The same type used for Boba Fett. However, last time I checked, they'd discontinued them. My brother did find one on ebay though.

Your waist size or smaller. Depends if you're going to dye it or not I think. Dyeing usually shrinks it a bit unless you're careful.

Either way, you'll have to add some straps to join the ends anyway, so a bit smaller than your waist is good, just as long as it covers around your front & sides.
