Need some ideas as to what to do with this.
« on: Jan 26, 2010, 04:51 PM »
Ok so a number of years ago my best friend came home from his first tour of duty in the sandbox and he brought back a number of things, one of them was this and I asked if I could have it he said ya.

Anywho I got this and I dont know how I should go about mounting it to my back plate.

The camelback has 4 plastic Drings, 2 on top and 2 on the bottem sides, I thought about cutting down what wasent needed like the shoulder straps and side straps, which I could actually use the webbing and clips for other things like my shin/calf/knee armor.

Then find something to kinda hide that its a back pack mounted to a back plate, But sadly looking around the house I aint got anything that would work.

Anyone got ideas? the onlything I ask is that you keep your idea ultra super inexpencive.

Strap the camelback to whatever you use as a backpack suspension system.  Fix one of your gauntlets with a camelback hose cover and plus the hose into your gauntlet.  When you want a sip, pull the hose out of the gauntlet, drink, and plug it back in.

Two birds with one stone: You get a camelback and a gauntlet hose.

That is a rther ingenious idea there, sadly the straps on this thing are thick and it would bulk out the armor.
I am thinking I will have to ditch the straps and then reinforce the mounting, Maybe make a suspender type harness.

Or I could just build a box on my back plate and put the blader in that and use the backpack for other things like a holster strap.
