Lots of updates!!!

I got all my bone armor pieces paint finished up!






I ran into a problem with my ab plate. It and the ground got into a fight and it lost.
Now I did glue it back together in an attempt to save its life. It was a grueling 5 min of surgery and the recovery was unclear at that time.



It went thru some extensive reconstructive surgery.



But Im happy to report it made a full recovery. Only time will tell if it will live out to its full potential



Now I still need to do all the strapping on these pieces to be fully finished with them.

I did also get the rear airhose attachment done on my helmet and the entire thing repainted.



Now on to a few things that I have finished.

I took my Ruus' advice and sanded down the elbow spikes on my vambraces and have them painted and mounted to the leather.





And last but not least my axe is complete.


Still got a ways to go but getting there!

Wow, the level of detail on your leather vambraces/gauntlets is superb.  I know it was tedious to punch them all out, but once the red was added it looks fantastic.  Keep up the great work Vod!

This update represents the most nerve racking part of this whole build to date......

The molding and dying of the chest piece.

I started off by making a jig to mount my form onto and allow me to secure the leather in place while it dried.




Then after soaking the leather for about 45 min I secured it tight with clamps and other things tight to the mold and took the time to smooth and press it into all the corners



24 hours later I pulled it off and trimmed the excess leather to make it the final shape.



Then came the dying, which was challenging. Trying to keep nice straight lines using cotton daubers was hard. I did try also using a small brush to outline the red and make it easier to do the black. I am like 90% happy with how it came out. That will have to be good enough lol. I also dyed the back piece as well





Whew!!!  That was the part I was dreading the most so I am glad its behind me. This is coming together nicely.
I still have a bit to figure out: how to bring the chest and back together, strapping for the armor pieces, flightsuit to be made, backpack and air hoses.
But its getting closer......

I’m kicking myself for not checking your WIP before today - everything looks amazing. I’m very impressed by all the leatherwork, I know it’s not easy and your stuff looks great. I think your vambraces might be my favorite part at the moment. I am very excited to see what you do next and I can’t wait to see what this is gonna all look like together.

Very small update.

Found a nice set of boots for this build

Had a chance to "try on" most of my upper pieces. No keep in mind most things including the helmet are not sitting in the proper place. This was just to get a rough feel for things.
