So I am in the very early stages of my protector build.  Still planning for the most part, but I have a few things on order, or already owned that will contribute to this kit. I have started some color planning.



I have a 7 Cat Studios jetpack and a set of vac formed plates incoming.  This probably won't be the fastest build, but I wanted to get something started here.

This should be a fun build. I wanted to go protector in my original kit before the overhaul, but there was too much that wasn't quite right.  I'm getting started using some of the things I have already on hand, so I have started on the jetpack.  Most of the white resin parts are only sitting in place for now, just enough to start to see where it is going.
 


As for the weapons I have a DLT-20A, but I'm strongly considering an A280 instead.  I plan on using an ESB DL-44 for my side arm, and I may have found some boots.  Will these work ?



I have a few pouches already here that I think should work well enough. 



I hope to get my chest plates in hand by the end of the weekend.  That should be a good enough start for now. I keep reminding myself that this is supposed to be a "slow build"

I would imagine those shoes will work - might have to remove the finger loops from the heels but other than that, looks good to me.

Those boots are a nice find, however they will need to have a higher ankle, approx 2" higher.

Good thing Amazon takes everything back.  I figured since they were listed as Chelsea boots they'd be OK. Oh well, I'll try again.

My DL-44 is inbound and I should have all of my vacuum formed plates in a little over a week. 

I'm still debating between the A280 and the DLT-20A for the main blaster.

Fantastic! This is shaping up to look great!

I'm not sure if the split color gauntlets will fly. Both yellow and light blue are allowed, but I think they might have to be a solid color (plus details). I'd recommend one yellow and one blue - but I'm a fan of the asymmetrical look.

I had decided that the two toned gauntlets seemed busy and I agree that the more solid colors are the way to go. 

I'm looking at soft parts and found a vendor on Etsy that makes a Boba ESB styled flightsuit vest and gloves.  The vendor is https://www.etsy.com/shop/kohienterprises

Excellent news!  I will get measurements tomorrow and get the soft parts in the works.  After ordering those I should only have a few  smaller things left to get.

I'm glad this was a "slow build"  1 month to procure 90% of the kit. Really slow. 

Edit:
Ordered.  I have at least all of the major items either in hand or inbound at this point.  The last "big" thing is the boot spikes.

Pre-holiday update:

Many of my parts have arrived now so I thought I'd make an update post, starting with a little update on my color scheme.


My rubber knees are cast in blue, so I figured I'd paint blue above so if they ever crack or chip it will hide a little bit better. 


I also got most of my armor, so I have plenty of trimming in my future. 


Lastly after several failed attempts to get a reasonably priced full sized airsoft to build into an A280 I found this. 


This is the A280-CFE used in Rogue One by Cassian.  I figured a Nerf conversion shouldn't be too bad.   So I sprung for an Ebay fresh one.

Digging the addition of the white cheeks. And girth belt is off to a great start.

That nerf blaster is great. I have converted two of those into different variants. One with the heavy barrel and one marksman/sniper build partially inspired by Crosshair's rifle in The Bad Batch
