At this point I have almost everything inbound or in hand.  Next steps are finishing up trimming the plates then getting them positioned and painted.  I certainly have plenty to keep me busy for the rest of winter.  I think after I get the plates located I will finish up the girth, make my belt and holster.

I had a question about the cape... I was wondering if this one that I need to remove from my other kit would work for the protector.

The style cap is good, The stripe would need to be Red, Orange or Yellow.

Boba Fett style half-cape is optional. All other cape-styles are restricted.
Solid color cape (ROTJ style): green, brown, tan, grey, dirty white
Cape may include a stripe of (ESB style): red, orange, yellow

Huh good to know. I was potentially planning on adding a stripe to my cape haha is that a newer addition or has that always been there and I just spaced it?

Yeah, sorry for the short answer I was rushing to get my son to school, its always been there.

I have yellowed the stripe, I  will retouch the weathering after the yellow dries. I'm just glad that I got a little more done tonight.

I airbrushed it with yellow ochre and touched up the weathering after that. It now has the "this was yellow" look and maintained most of it's flexibility.  I need to work it to soften it up again, but I am very happy that I was able to save the existing cape.  More to come soon.
