I've built several mando costumes over the years, but nothing for the sake of approval. I may have even been a forum member years ago. My last kit was a trash can mando based on the Wizard of Light templates. A lot has happened in canon since then and I have done a far share of costuming since then, outside of the star wars universe. I want something significantly more free feeling than my clone kit, so I'm going for the minimum number of pieces in many areas.
I found a way cool mando maker website, one that I don't think existed 10 years ago when I made my last kit.
I am torn between the Paz and Din style chest plates. I started making the Paz heavy mando chest piece but it feels like it is always going to drag against my bicep.
I had started working on a DIY custom helmet, which is seen below, but I'm going to end up going with a stalker helmet. I've always loved how they look. I'll probably make a different set of chest/Ab plates out of sintra.
The only piece I've actually finished is a set of thermal detonators that I 3D printed.
I printed out an arena jetpack, the shoulders seen above (since sanded and primed, not photographed) and made various components that I'm not entirely happy with. I have a belt, pouches, and a bunch of stuff somewhere in the build process. The flak jacket is more snug on me with my old flight suit, but the dummy is better than laying it out on the floor.
I'd love opinions on which chest piece would be more fitting. I'm leaning toward the Din as I "think" it will be less constricting.
