I'm very excited to finally start on actually getting things together and ready for this build, especially since it's the first one I have ever done I was originally just going to base my mandalorian on the colors of a red fox but the color scheme just wasn't working out. So, I decided to do one based off the Vulptex! Cutest things ever!

I did post this on the Armor Concept forum and got some advice that I will more than likely use such as doing some weathering on the boots that looks red like the red soil on Crait, I seriously loved that idea. I ordered clear crystals and fox teeth to make the necklace that my mandalorian will wear. I also got boots for it already as well, my dad had a pair of biker boots that he didn't like cause they were too tall for his liking and since we're about the same size he said I could have them lol. Lastly, I'm waiting for the pieces of my flight suit to come in. After doing some research I decided for now buying some scrubs would be my best bet because 1. It's two pieces lol and 2. I've worn coveralls before and feel like even my normal size or a size up they just always fit weird. My scrubs are white but I did buy the darkest grey dye I could find. Once my pieces start coming in I will keep updating on my progress!

Oya! Great concept. You might want to look around at Arctic kits for weathering ideas for your armour. Great score on the boots, make sure you break them in and have insoles/liner, you will need them to be as comfortable as possible.

Tip for the dyeing: check what kind of material your scrubs are and what type of dye it is - synthetic fabric doesn't necessarily dye well; my flightsuit was supposed to be black and it turned out a mid-grey. You'll probably want some dye fixer (washing soda or salt is a cheaper alternative). Make sure you wash the scrubs first to get any coating off, and when you dye, use hot water and stir lots to get an even dye.

Super excited for this build, it looks amazing.  It actually reminds me a lot of another Vod's kit from 2019.  She used Loth-cat for her inspiration, check it out when you get a chance Nadala Haast.  Basing yours off a Vulptex is just pure genius.

It's too bad glitter is forbidden; Montana makes a silver glitter paint that would be perfect for highlighting bits of kit.

Also, shouldn't the dirt/staining be red, like the soil on Crayt?

I love the concept! Creature based kits are my favorite (if thats not obvious!) and using the environment of Crait is awesome. Alright, so I ended up getting a set of gray scrubs instead of dyeing the white ones I had.


The only thing about this set is that I cannot tell if one is lighter/darker than the other. I've asked like everyone in my house if the pants and top matched in color while wearing them and they all said yes. So, hopefully I'm just psyching myself out. And I know the picture you might not be able to tell but I think a lot of it is the lighting too, hopefully.

The next thing I need to do is get the top and bottoms tailored. I've got my own sewing machine and it'll be my first time using it, excited! After I get them tailored I'm going to add feet straps on the pants that way I don't have to worry about pushing them down into my boots if they rise up.
