Oh yeah  ;D   I've washed it twice in hot water just to be sure and even through it into the dryer and the color is still on there.  Even the stitching is still black.   I went ahead and ordered the Omnipat colored version since its lighter and if all goes well I'll finally have a decent vest.

No worries, but use two bottles of the liquid RIT and add 1tps of salt, I used Sea Salt since its synthetic materials.  I got the bucket from work (Wal-Mart) in the bakery department coz they just toss them out.  Its the kind that has a lid that seals super tight and its for the butter-cream.  Put in the water and dye at the same time leaving enough room for your item to go inside, seal it up, and wait.  If you want a pic of what it looks like I'll snap on off for ya.

Ok heres images of the Mol-E vest so you know what your in for when you try to dye the vest.

I had to hang them outside because I left them out in the rain last nite LOL.

In this close up you can see how the dye is fading somewhat.  Keep in mind however that I dyed them about two months ago, they've been two full wash/dry cycles, and now a full nite of rain and are sun drying.   The color has held up fairly well but I can see the black coming off the red stitching but no worries, I've still got that bucket full of dye so all I have to do is maybe add another pack and some water and maybe a 1/4 teaspon of sea salt.

Also I just want to let you know that the sea salt can and probably will rust up any metal rings/buttons on the vest however a good polishing will get rid of the rust.  Small price to pay to have a piece of kit I guess.  Once I get the vest I think I'll write up a tutorial on dying using it as an example.  Hope this helps  ;D

I wrote to the company that makes these asking about sizes for us bigger folks. Below is a C&P of what I got back

Dear Josh,
thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately the Operative V2 is going to
be discontinued and once out of stock will not be available again in
the future. There are a few options for you like purchasing one of our
1 size fits all like the Broadsword IX, Forge Vest System or the
Dagger X. We can also custom make you a vest that will fit your
specific size in out vest builder!

See my thread hear about it and see all the detail pics.

Trust me the XL is plenty big enough of for those of us of larger stature.    Normally I wear an XL shirt (no matter what kind of shirt it is) and this vest was still big on me and I had all the straps pulled as tight as I could get them.  If you can get the Omnipat colored version it would be easier to dye it black than the Woodland version.

I wear 3X or 4X shirts depending on who makes them. From what you're saying, the 2X tac vest might fit.

In that case yeah go with the 2X, the XL would probably be to tight around the shoulders for you.

I've tried the site too to try and get one for my oldest son but its still down.  I even tried e-bay to find the vest but no luck either.
