It's the helmet hair problem revisited...
I can't bring a hairbrush due to the fact that brushing my hair would wreak havoc on it instead of tidying up. Would ot be possible to wear hair spray, or would that get my bucket sticky?

Not sure about hairspray, but have you considered wearing a bandana of some type?

I do fencing and sometimes hair and sweat can get in your eyes and distract you, so I use a bandana.

Many of my 501st friends do this too.

Most of us wear a balaclava, bandana, or other cloth head covering both to keep our hair out of the way and to help prevent sweat running into our eyes.  For mine, I usually stitch on some extra details matching the kit to make it look more in-universe when I take my bucket off

Yeah, i've considered making one, I just haven't gotten around to sewing it.

My issue (if I still had hair) would be the chemical reek... I would choke out in the first minute.

Those useful necktubes pull up nicely covering forehead and keeping all the hairs together.

You don't need to make one, you can just buy one. It's not a part of the costume itself and it's hidden from view. I wear one similar to those Buff coolnets but it's much cheaper.
