Making a hand forged helmet

Im trying to make the top in one pice

Here is the pattern on the metal

after it is cut out it goes into the forge

then I start hammering it into shape

and this is what I have so far

Looks like it's going to be a bit of work.

Any reason in particular you've chosen to go with shaping a single piece into a dome over a 2 or 3 part pattern?

Very good work, nice and seamless!  That's the only part I've never gotten around to making out of metal.  Have you thought about adding the seam band completely around the top of the helmet?  That would really be my only suggestion, as it gives the helmet a certain depth and contrast.

Other than that...I have to say this is very outstanding work.  =)

Thank you very much the second helmet I plan to build using this process will have all of those features . I'll probly will make a tutorial out of it but now I'm getting my full kit up and running .
