Armor Sizing Help
« on: Jun 16, 2023, 05:02 PM »
I just received my Chest and Ab plates, and I was wanting to get the consensus on the sizing.

It comes pretty close to the edge of the vest, and positioning could certainly be better than trying this one-handed in the bathroom mirror.
Would this be considered appropriately-sized?
Thanks for any input!

I disagree, particularly when it comes to the width. I think the width is just right. You don't want it too wide where you can't cross your arms in front of you. Just make sure that the chest plate is raised up a bit when you mount it.

I agree. Size looks good!

I will say though, if you're going post imperial, generally the flak vests are a lot shorter which is probably why the plate sizes might look off to you. Might post-imperial flak vests end where your ribs start to flare, approximately 3 inches or so above your belly button.

Yup I think the size looks good, but you want it shifted up at least a few inches so it doesn't sit too low and interact with your belt.
