3d Printer Help
« on: Jul 05, 2023, 02:35 PM »
Su cuy'gar (hello),

I am uncertain if this is the right area for this thread topic, but I am at the end of my ropes.

I recently got an Ender Extender kit for my Ender 3 V2 3d printer. I was able to compile edited firmware (Marlin) so the printer will recognize the new print area size (400x400x500). However, with the new firmware, the display has become all wonky looking.

I am trying to load new firmware onto the display, however, following every single tutorial to the letter that I have been able to find, nothing is working.

My steps thus far:
Using an 8Gb memory card, formatted in FAT32 with allocation set to 4096.
Load DWIN_SET firmware onto freshly formatted card. Insert SD card into display board, connect ribbon cable, turn printer on.

Nothing happens.

I read somewhere that the rev styling of the board can determine what firmware you load (DWIN_SET vs "private', however, 100% of all tutorials on the net have not in any way, shape, or form mention this. I loaded a "private" firmware on a display board (rev 4.2.7) and it bricked the board, forcing me to purchase a replacement, which has an entirely different board layout with no rev number.

I am hoping that a few of my Mando Brothers and Sisters may be able to help.
