My son recently expressed a desire to build himself a bucket too. So I guess I'll have another one to post at some point...

This is my first Helmet and more or less is complete at this point. Outer piece

Here's my metal bucket - it's all aluminum. I ordered the dome online, cut out the other pieces from sheet aluminum, hammered them into shape, and had someone weld it together for me. The ear pieces I machined out of solid blocks of aluminum and bolted on. Weighs about three pounds.





It's a little small...If I get time to make a new one, it'd be at least 1.5 inches bigger in diameter at the base of the dome, I'd actually do a key-slot that I could vent for a fan, and I'd hollow out the earpieces to save weight, and maybe wire in a radio or voice changer.
