Oh, man!

I'm really sorry about taking so long to post anything else, everybody! I HAVE been working on my armor, I promise! But I haven't got a  lot of time to post. So, I now want to take this time to put up pictures of my progress.

I finished my shoulder plates:

Here's the bottom part:

And the tops:

Sorry I'm not modeling either of these for reference, but my friend Lenet couldn't help me that day so I didn't get a lot of pictures.

I also did my forearm bracers, but I don't have an individual pic of them and they're not much to see.

Thanks! Sorry for the delay!

Thanks! I just have a ton of other stuff I have to do (namely, Anatomy and Physiology 1 for college and practicing my nun-chuks for Taekwondo, lol).

Whoot! Go tkd! What rank are you? I'm a 4th Dan myself.

I finished my shoulder plates:

I love the shoulder design!

Wow, that's so cool! I'm glad there's other tkd people out here in the Mercs! I'm doing Korean Ji Do Kwan, though, so we don't really do the Dan system.  :) I'm a green belt, currently! And I've just started on the beauty that is nun-chuks. I might be coming up with a form, soon. I'd appreciate any advice!

And thanks! I like my shoulder plates, too, haha! I wanted to have a lot of segmentation for a Crusader set. It seemed the right thing to do.

I'm not familiar with Ji Do Kwon I guess. I do Korean Chon Ji style, and I've also been trying to learn a little Tae Geuk since I hit blackbelt. I've never done a whole lot of work with nun-chuks myself. Unfortunately my school wasn't big into weapons mastery. I fiddled with them, but I preferred sais.  ;D The only advice I have with the nun-chuks is what I would give no matter what weapon you were making a form for. Use simple, yet effective movements, nothing too fancy or showy. Imagine you have four enemies surrounding you, and defend/counter each one in turn. This helps to get a more realistic look to the form. This is also how I remember all of my openhand forms. Just try to emulate the openhand forms of your style. Perhaps do a couple forms while holding the nunchuks in one hand to get a feel for moving with them and what moves work/don't work well with them. When I created a sai form, I went through all ten of my gup forms while holding them, and actually got pretty inspired by the end of it. Made it much easier. Feel free to PM me if you want to keep the conversation going. Go tkd!

Yeah, I really like the segmented look. I'm thinking about doing a second kit with a crusader look or a legacy look. Can't really decide.  :P

I'm BaaACK!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to work on my armor for a month or so because of more pressing obligations. But I did want to post something to show progress of some sort on the set, so I thought I'd post some pics of the weapons I plan to use. I would really appreciate advice on how to "Crusader" these things.

First up, the big gun! I want to turn this into a very cool rifle, and I think it has potential. Not to mention it was only 8 bucks at the dollar store, lol:

Next are the two smaller "handguns" that I thought were really awesome! If I can't use the bigger gun, I can always make these my close range weapons.

As you can see, they're all from the dollar store and were the best buys of the project thus far!

Thanks!  :D

Nice score. Those are going to take a ton of work to get away from the Modern military look though.

Just my two credits, but pics from the comics and the two Kotor games show the weapons as bigger bulkier weapons compaired to the modern area weapons. So like A'den said your going to have to heavly modify them and probably should try to add things to them that increase the weapons size. Hope some of that made sence.

Have a good one,
Hagen

Thanks for the suggestions. But...how do you think I should do that? Remember, I'm a girl, so I don't think it would look too realistic if my weapons were as big as I was.  :D But I'm very glad for your input!

We got a very similar rifle for parts my wife's rifle... and no, it does NOT look strange if your weapons are as big as you (the present build of my wife's rifle is just shy of 5 feet long, hits my armpit, and I'm 6'1")  What it does look is kick-shebs.

I found this on ebay a while back and plan on using it for my Neo crusader once I clean it up and mod it. So if you can find one, it might be an answer for yeah.

Have a good one,
Hagen
