I'm so proud of him! He finished it last night and it looks AWESOME.

It's made of climbing rope, 550 cord, 1" webbing and military-grade snap clips. It is sewn with single strands of the nylon core cord from 550 cord.

It looks amazing over his armor. Pictures later!

That looks great, and is probably WAY more comfortable than the leather version I use.  Yours looks like it stretches, and that's a good thing.

No stretch - it's made of rappelling/climbing rope that Beloved got through work (it got wet and they were throwing it out!). It's 7/16" black assault line. I've looked it up on REI.com and it runs a little under $1 a foot retail. Any other climbing rope of similar size could probably be used.

He's thought about it. We have to work out costs and then we will post an interest thread in the trading station. So far we think they will probably run about the same as other finished girthbelts, and he'll only be making them in black, but custom sized because they only have about 4" of adjustability.

Ok, we worked out costs and found sources for the buckles and webbing in quantity. These will need to be made to measure, and will only be available in black for now. Cost will be between 100 and 150 for most people, cost will be calculated based on your over-armor measurement (the rope is the most expensive part, at a dollar a foot). There's five to seven hours of handsewing in every belt.  And some blisters!
