I've got a bit of tactical straps on pieces on my kit and I also have a military style utility belt with dual holsters.  I'm looking for some ideas on how to weather my kit to blend w/the rest of it.  I'm almost ready to submit some pics but don't wanna take a hit for new belt old looking plates etc  Ideas so far:

1.  Take it out and roll it in the dirt (ok but messy after a while)
2.  Take some high grit sand paper and rub it over seams etc
3.  Auto upholstery paint in grays and browns and lightly spray

4.  Any others out there that people have tired.
Thanks
GJ

Dusting with spray paint is always good too.  Crushed up pastels can be good for softgoods.  I've also just taken really watered down acrylic paints and done washes on softgoods parts, even sort of dry brushing with my bare hands to rub smudges all over items.
