KOTOR Crusader hopefully...
« on: Aug 20, 2010, 09:25 PM »
Greetings all, Elijah here.  I have been reading through the forums for a couple of weeks and finally made an account just recently.

I am in the planning stage for my first suit, and I am shooting for something that would look at home in the KOTOR comic book, likely in the Medium to Heavy range.

I haven't decided what to make the final product out of yet, but for my first set I am thinking plastic tubs.  For now I am mocking things up with craft foam I had lying around from another project.

The only pic I have right now is from messing around with the WOF templates trying to make something that has that older look, mostly just playing around on a Friday night in.  When I get to serious fabrication I plan to alter it further so that it isn't as recognizable.

This is my current thinking for my chest.  As a way to stand out a bit I am doing away with the center diamond, and even though this is just reversing the plates, I kind of dig the look.  I also made the lower triangular part by using the void as a template.  What do you all think?

Welcome aboard. While youre idea seems cool, if youre intent is to become an Official Member, the CRL for KOTOR Mando's clearly state that no Modern Era plates may be used, even flipped over like that we can clearly see what they are.

Yeah, I saw that.  The picture isn't exactly how I intend for it to look.  I would fill the gaps where the diamond fits when you wear it normally, and possibly mount these on a larger back plate that would mount on the vest to create a solid breastplate with raised detail areas.

Before fabricating anything in whatever material I decide on I will be posting pics of my templates or a mock up to make sure it passes muster.

Thanks for looking!
