here is a jet pack im working on....i think the base is some Dora the explorer back pack or something but i figured i could mod it into a jet pack here's what I've done so far....let me know what you guys think.

Is it bad that the first thought I had was "Kill it... burn it with fire!" Anyways besides the hidiously happy face on it, what are the dimentions on it? I serriously can't get past the happy face though, any quality comments I might have will have to wait till that things smug look get removed

yea i really hate the face too lol. but in answer to your question its size is about 1' tall 3/4' wide and 1/2' deep so its kinda small but the modding will make it a bit bigger

Wow, it has turned out better than I though but to go off of what McCoy said, perhaps cut the canopy section off all together  and fit a piece of Syntra in there and maybe flatten the nose. other than that cut some plastic pieces at random from a model kit that can be put on at random as greeblies to hide the jets form some more.

vor'e....its amazing how the chain of inspiration works isn't it...but thanks for the tip about using parts from a model kit cuz ive had an Apache helicopter kit lying  around for a long time and am kicking myself for not thinking of using parts form it sooner.

Yeah Bud, inspiration is a great and wonderful bug that just gets into you. Though I am itching to get down to business with some stuff for my armor, but I have to wait for my next pay check to get more supplies. I am glad that the model kit idea helped I had thought about it because lots of sci-fi movies and television shows have utilized it to build ships and weapons in the past and then I was listening to some of the old podcasts and someone had mentioned it there for weapons so hey why not go with what works right. Again I love what you did. Keep up the good work. Buy the way because someone may not have asked how much did this project run you?

I know he's approved and all, and the jet pack looks great, but it just doesn't look like it could lift him off the ground.

But as we know... it doesn't matter.  Since we are here to talk about jet packs.  And, I still hold to my original statement, it just seems a bit too small.  Not knocking the work or the design as it is very clever and original.  Just seems on the smallish side.
