so i just got back and opened up the mercs site and stumbled upon a CVI pic of you. first thought: "OMGOMGOMGOMG THATS SOOO FREAKIN COOL!!!" second thought: "thats definitely a zabrak." then about five minutes later: "wait a sec, i recognize that chest plate! thats Drake!!"

for your next repaint you mentioned matte black and matte yellow. how 'bout matte black with gloss yellow tattoos like what you have now only slightly less complicated.

on a related note i'm sorta glad you have to repaint 'cuz one of ur helmet tat's sorta looks like a moustach

The Kit looks great, But i'm with Falin. When i saw it in the CVI pics i thought Savage Mando. I think the idea is good and could possibly work with some adjustments, but needs to lose that Savage feel, Maybe add another colour or something.

Vhett, the helmet is a scratch-build. There have been rumors of an attempted copy, but I'll not stand for it. 

Remo and Kane, I would like to go with a reversal of colors, but there are quite a few hours in that paint job. I have come to the realization that I want to repaint it due to it not really being much of a custom. Yes it is the only one and is custom as far as the term custom goes, but it isn't unique to me. Darth Maul has the tats, and the only canon Zabrak that is yellow is Savage. I have always (for the most part) been yellow, so I HAVE to have yellow and black. 

The accessories and idea I have for this kit will make it very unique and perhaps "pop" a little more than it does now, while maintaining a believable design, as in one that could possibly be seen in-Universe. It will be far more Mando and tactical, drawing from many sources in the SW realm (RC's, Jango, Zabraks, general tools of the trade). Keep an eye out, and you won't be disappointed. Construction should begin sometime soon, as I want to completed by October 31, fo a party debut.

In other words don't worry about keeping an eye out till October because, he'll be so busy building it that he won't bother updating till it has been debuted. Plus he said debuted so you won't see it till after its release <.<..... At least we all have something to look forward to.

Alright, so after crying in a corner for an hour or so after hearing Falin hates me and my color scheme ( ) I just decided to build a completely new set of armor, with 90% of the same components as the Zabrak. I'll still be a Zabrak, but I'm going to make it far more tactical, more custom, and more like a real Mercenary. Which is why I have built it out of STEEL. I figured if I wanted it to be realistic, why not use the closest thing I could find to Mandalorian iron. I believe it is 18 gauge, but don't quote me. Current chest and back weighs in at about 10 pounds, so it isn't that bad. The entire kit will be made from steel, including the helmet. I have a deadline set for an October 31 party, but technically have until December to finish it for a parade. So, without further ado, progress pictures:

The first picture includes a prelim ab I made from a thinner metal, from a very large filing cabinet. It proved to be too flimsy for what I wanted, so I upped the ante to the thicker, more durable steel plate. It took me about 4 hours to complete the chest, and another 4 today to complete the thighs, collar, and backplate (which I believe I will rework/replace.

If I took the time to paint my kit so intricately (wait I did), I'd rather keep the paint job I worked hard on and build a second kit. The second is going to be painted so differently anyway it is like making a new kit anyway. So I find this justified. lol
